Starting a internet business is quite simple on the internet. The question is, where to begin and which lane to choose. My answer has always been, choose your passion and what you love. If writing is your desire, than create and sell your own e-book or e-publication. If you love drawing, than create and sell your artwork. There are a lot of ways to make dosh on the internet. You need to start with something that you love and have a craving for. And the second part of this question is, how much greenbacks will it cost me to get it off the ground and do I have enough time to do it. If you don't have the capital or time to design your own business model yourself, than try finding a home based affiliate program.

There are tons of trouble-free home based business affiliates to choose from. A mlm affiliate program (another name for a internet business) would give you a finished package to sell immediately. Most affiliates have custom-made material like banners, email samples, articles and videos, so you can start marketing and bringing in profits the same day. And some have training courses and weekly webinars to show you on how to market their program. The cost to join most affiliates range from the cost of cigarettes to 1000's, so you have a wide range of options to choose from. But some of the best work-from-home business opportunities online are almost free and some have free trials to join. But if you are on a budget try searching around for a free stay-at-home business opportunity.

After finding what you want to do online, the next step is how will you sell it. When you are selling via the internet just remember, like the paths we take on roadways to get to our whatever place in the real world, you must have a site for which the world can find your business. And that location is your website, or blog, or splash page (get the point). This is your virtual storefront for your internet business, with all the information on your company and products. Attached to your website is the url (example: www.youronlinestore.com) to guide people to your business. And lastly, your email address (a virtual mailbox without the late delivery) for sending and receiving mail to and from your business.

With affiliate systems, a lot of these pieces are part of their marketing materials. So the need to hire a media firm to create a website is void. But if you are producing your own business model, like creating a learning course or other produce, you will need a custom website and most web companies know how to set things up. This is step "B" and it's a major part of what will attract visitor to your site. So pick your affiliate and your webmaster well.

And lastly, the "C" of it all... Who will you sell to (your niche) and how will you get them to your site. This is the "make" or "broke" question for most newbies. The "who" to marketing your site will be characterized by your "tags" or "keywords". These are little labels for the desired niche you are marketing to. For example, let's say I'm searching the internet for a "home based business for out of work dads" on Google. If this label is part of your meta tags (an area within your website), your website information would come up in the search results and I would find you in the list.

Now the HOW, when it comes to traffic... There are many ways of creating traffic to your site. But the most popular way is with PPC (Pay-Per-Click). This is the brain child of the Big G (Google). Here you would advertise with particular keywords (labels) in their Adword program for a fee and when your ad is viewed and click on, visitor are taken to your website. This is a aimed method for pushing unique traffic to your location, but it can be the most costly. I would suggest to anyone to do some research or consult with a SEO professional before attempting a campaign. And with other marketing methods like, traffic exchanges, blogs, articles and social networks, it's really up to the individual and how much time you want to spend marketing with these tools.

Three of the most impelling FREE methods of creating a large amount of traffic to your site are by using social networks (twitter, facebook, myspace), video marketing using portals (Youtube, Viddler, Revver and many others) and article marketing using article submission services or software. These methods are used everyday by guru's on the internet, so they must work well.

Now you know the Building Blocks of starting a internet business. And It's not as hard as most people think. Just remember... product, location and traffic. Now do your research, find your niche and start your business. With the way our economy is going, starting a business would help in bringing it back to were it was a short time ago...Prosperous.
