The Basic Rules Of Live Dealer Baccarat

By: Home | Recreation-and-Sports

Baccarat seems so intimidating because it is played in a special room reserved for high rollers. But the game could not be any less scary if it tried. The game is a game of pure chance. The object of the game is to be able to guess and guess correctly if the player or the banker's hand will come closest to a total of 9. Each card number 2 thru 9 is set at the face value. The Aces are one point, the Jack, Queens, and Kings are Zero Points and the Tens are Zero as well. The hand who has the highest total will win. The highest total of any hand cannot be higher than 9. You may be thinking that, that is impossible but in the world of gambling anything is possible.

We will explain how, a hand that has a 7 and 2 , that equals 9 so that hand would be great. Now, if you have a 7 and a 8 which equal 15 that is not acceptable, so what happens is that the dealer drops the tenth digit which would be the 1 in this case and the score would be a 5. In baccarat there is a third card rule, this rule comes into play when the player or the banker gets an automatic third card. If the value of the third card is a 8 or a 9 this is called a Natural. If either one is dealt a natural the game will end and there will be no more third cards dealt in that game.

In a sense this is like blackjack, the goal of the game is to get as close to nine as you can. So if the player gets a point value made in combination of 2 cards a 0-5 then they will draw a third card, if the cards equal a 6 or 7 then the player stands, if there is an 8 or 9 then there is no further draw of the cards. Now, if the banker gets a 0-2 then the third card is dealt. If the card point total is a 3 the player will draw a third cards as well as up to 7 when the banker has a 7 he will stand and an 8 or a 9 the player cannot draw at all.

It sounds complicated but it really isn't. Remember that you want to get a total of 9. You cannot go over 9 no matter what happens but your goal is to get a 9 or a high number with cards like 6 and 3 or 7 and 2. Anything else is going to give you low numbers. If you want to get into a Baccarat game then see if there is a beginners table you can learn from and if not maybe you can play a hand or so and see how you do. Baccarat is a fun game and once you get enough practice you may feel comfortable playing with the big boys.
