Roulette is a casino game that means small wheel in French. Roulette is played when a croupier or casino employee so in the Roulette wheel in one direction and then takes the small ball and spins it in the other direction . The wheel itself has 38 number slots either red or black. The only green slot is for the number zero and for the slot for double zeros. The numbers are not in any numerical order at all. So the game is basically a game of chance. Roulette was first created in the 17th century. . But the way the game is played today it has been since 1796. When the first wheel was created it did not have any zeros, the zeros were put in around 1842 in order to create an advantage for the house. The Third or the Tiers, this is the name of all of the numbers on the opposite of the wheel from the Neighbors of Zero. These numbers are 27,13,36,11,30,8,23,10,5,24,16 and 33. The Orphans are the numbers that are outside the wheel, there are eight numbers, 17,34,6,1,20,14,31 and 9. Then there are the XX and the Neighbors these are numbers that are along the 2 numbers on either side of it in a 5 piece bet. The Neighbors bets are pit in combinations . The Neighbors are 18,22,36, with 1 piece, 9,31,20, 1 with 2 pieces and 14 with 3 pieces. Albert Einstein once said " You cannot beat a roulette table unless you steal money from it." It is very hard to beat a roulette wheel. But it does not stop people from trying. Roulette like Craps is a game of chance and the odds are winning either are not in the players favor unless you cover one chip on all numbers. But it is a game of chance and people who are hard core gamblers who will spend all their money on the wheel and they will either win something or they will lose their shirt over it.
