The Best Golf Equipment For Both Professional Golfers And Amateurs

By: Clint Jhonson Home | Recreation-and-Sports | Golf

Golf is one of the most well-known sports in the world. Its origins are rather unclear, but it is generally believed that the game was invented in Scotland around the year 1100. With such a long tradition, it is no wonder that golf has become a worldwide sport. Golf is very popular in English-speaking countries such as Scotland, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, Canada, United States and England, but also in Nordic countries such as Sweden. In 2005 there were approximately 30,000 golf courses in the world, half of which being in the USA. This shows that the popularity of this game is very high.

The rules are simple in golf, as anyone knows. Basically, the player uses golf equipment or golf clubs in order to hit a ball into each hole on the golf courses in a minimum number of strokes. Like every other sport, golf has its tournaments and championships, as well as its stars. Famous professional golf players include Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and Annika Sorenstam. Golf equipment is not very expensive and it includes golf clubs, balls, tees, gloves and shoes. The best thing about golf is that you don’t need an excellent physical condition in order to be able to play it. Almost everyone can play golf, no matter how old, healthy or fit they are.

There are many stereotypes about golf and one of them has been that golf is a game made only for white, rich, upper-class males. We have seen in many movies the image of successful businessman, directors, in other words, â€big bosses†relaxing on a golf field, with golf clubs in their hands. However, this doesn’t mean that only rich people play golf. As long as anyone can afford golf equipment, there is no reason why golf would be considered a game of the rich. About the others clichs, suffice it to say that one of the top golf players, Tiger Woods, is Afro-American, and another, Annika Sorentsam, is a woman. There are also major women’s golf championships, like the U.S. Women’s Open and Women’s British Open. It is clear that the days of golf being a sport for â€gentlemen only†are long over.

So, what does it take to be a golfer? According to most people, you need patience and time. Perseverance is very important, as you probably won’t be able to hit the ball into the hole for the very first time. Golf is not a sport for nervous people; however, it can help you become calmer and more disciplined. Many people have taken up golf as a hobby because it helped them relax after a busy day’s work. If you want to try this game, all you have to do is sign into a local golf club, buy golf equipment and get on the field. You will certainly find many experienced and enthusiastic golfers who are eager to share their secrets with you.

Golf is not about competition, like other sports. It is not violent or dangerous. That is why it is perfect for those who seek relaxation and peace. You will learn very quickly what to do with the golf clubs and by the end of the day, you will feel full of energy. Like all outdoors sports, golf will improve your health. We spend too much of our time indoors, that is why a few hours a day spent outdoors will make you feel better.
