The Convenience Of Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaners

By: Mrinal Dev Home | Home-and-Family | Home-Improvement

Essential equipment in any home or shop or business is wet and dry vacuum cleaners . Often referred to as a shop-vac, it is multipurpose and a very convenient â€do-it-yourself†piece of equipment. Wet & dry vacuum cleaners are very simple. If taken apart, they consist of nothing more than a vacuum cleaner as heart. But very cunningly designed, they enable the user to accomplish more and work in all kinds of environment.

The most unique feature of wet dry vacuum cleaners is their versatility. They have a powerful suction, which can pick up anything from nails, screws and other materials without causing any damage to the vacuum. They can also work in a wet environment with equal ease. Whether to remove a fine layer of dust or empty a basin of water, these shop vacs are just the very things to use.

They come in many sizes and capacity. Wet and dry vacuum cleaners have three major parts the motor, the bucket and the hose. The motor is placed atop the bucket and drives a fan which draws air through the bucket and hose. As the air passes the hose, it increases in speed and creates suction. This suction causes it to pick up the particles and carry it into the bucket. As the air enters the bucket, it slows down and the particles are released. The air is finally vented out of the upper portion of the vacuum. A simple but effective logic!!!

The price of wet dry vacuum cleaners varies according to size and power. A good size to have in the house is a unit with a six gallon bucket and 3.0 hp motor. One thing to remember is that these are not carpet shampooing devices and will not apply shampoo to a carpet. They will however, help to dry a wet carpet. Before buying a shop vac, it is always useful to know what it is that you are going to buy. It is also useful to know a few troubleshooting tips so that you need not call the company for every problem.
