Many people are realising that the effects of drugs like ecstasy and speed are more than outweighed by the negative elements and are looking for an alternative party solution. This has led to an upsurge in demand for legal herbs and drug-like products but it should be remembered that not all of these products have been created equal. Whilst there are many that utilise herbs and natural ingredients which can offer a buzz whilst leaving the user perfectly safe, there are a number of others which carry sever health warnings, perhaps as much as the drugs they are trying to provide an alternative to. This is the case with GBL which has recently received a lot of bad press for a related death after someone used the medication. This is exactly the type of story that the tabloid media will jump on to repeat the dangers that can occur when using this form of drug but it is fair to say that people should have concerns about the safety of the drug. There are many noted side effects and health issues that can arise from using, some serious, others not as much but it is fair to say that there are many things to consider when looking to have a good time. What may seem like adding a little buzz to proceedings may have a large and detrimental impact on a person’s life. It is widely noted that GBL can have a negative effect on the skin and scalp of people, which is not advantageous for many people. There are said to be similarities to the effect of this drug on people’s appearances to psoriases, which can be extremely uncomfortable and unsettling for many people. Not many people would choose to have eczema or a skin rash but taking this medication can lead to the same form of outcome so users will need to consider if this is something that they are willing to accept. A short term gain for an evening out may be followed by a considerably longer period of discomfort and unhappiness. Aside from this, this drug is known to make it far more likely that a person will vomit and be nauseas. This is not an outcome that people crave or hope to obtain and therefore, is a rather large side effect of this form of product. With related issues like headaches and loss of balance, it should be easy to see that using and abusing this form of drug can lead to massive problems for anyone who decides to use it. It is also not a drug that mixes well with other drugs or forms of alcohol and as this is likely to happen on a night out, the risk of danger could increase greatly. Being able to stay in control and be aware of what has been taken can sometimes be lost by people on an evening night out and if GBL starts to be used alongside other products, this can cause great and long term difficulties for the person, their friends and family.
