The Glamorous Lingerie Football League (lfl)

By: Gen Wright Home | Health-and-Fitness

Since in its inception Lingerie Football League (LFL), the outcome of the Lingerie Bowl, is been gaining in popularity. The new complete version of LFL has introduced a packed season of game play to its existing Super Bowl halftime format.

The LFL, the brainchild of Mitchell Mortaza, was started in the year 2004 as part of the half time period of Super Bowl XXXVIII. It was promoted as the substitute to the half time show of Super Bowl, which lost its popularity after the wardrobe failure fiasco of Janet Jackson. Team Dream and Team Euphoria were the first two teams that participated in the opening Lingerie Bowl and was telecasted on Pay-Per-View for US$ 20. It was shot at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

The show was the part of the Super Bowl held in the year 2005 and 2006, but was canceled in the year 2007. This happened because the Horizons Productions Inc., the promoters of the game failed to get the necessary permit to play in Scottsdale, Arizona, the venue where the event was being hosted that year. It was canceled in the year 2008 again as the promoters failed again to get the permit in time.

Lingerie football league season 2009 has already started with a playoff between Chicago Bliss and Miami Caliente at the Sears Centre Arena that was held on 4th September. The ten times that are taking part in this hot league are Chicago Bliss, Dallas Desire, Denver Dream LA Temptation, New York Majesty, Philadelphia Passion, San Diego Seduction, Seattle Mist and Tampa Breeze. Every team in the league has its own official home arena and cheerleaders. Fans can easily learn about the schedule of matches, latest news, and buy tickets and team attire by visiting that official website of the event. If you are interested to play in the LFL you can submit the form available on their website.

Every player in this glamorous league supports bikini briefs, sports bra, shoulder pads, helmet, knee and elbow pads, and cleats. Garter belt and lace chocker are part of their accessories. The uniforms of the players are based on the colors of the uniforms of their city's NFL teams. For example, the colors of Chicago Bliss uniforms are orange and blue, that are similar to colors worn by Chicago Bears.

The games are played on 50 by 30 yards field with ends being 8 yards deed. The players are required to be physically fit and athletic to overcome the hard seven-on-seven full contact playoffs. The typical offensive configuration includes 3 wide receivers, 1 center, 2 running backs and 1 quarterback, while the typical defensive configuration includes 1 safety, 2 cornerbacks, 2 linebackers and 2 defensive linewomen.

Prominent past players of the league are Adrienne Curry, the winner of America's Next Top Model Cycle One, famous actor Jenny McCarthy, Nikki Ziering, Angie Everhart, and popular pop singer Willa Ford. The past NFL players that coach some of the teams in LFL include Rob Long, Tony Felice, Antuan Edwards, Yo Murphy, Dennis Mckinnon and Bob Hewko.

Lingerie Football league is the true combination of athletics, beauty, music and dance, and total fun for the loving fans.
