The Groom Speech

Wedding Toast: From Groom to the Bride’s parents
I raise my glass and ask you to join me in a toast to the parents of my lovely bride. They must have done a lot of things right to raise such a beautiful and gifted daughter as my Bride. I promise to live up to the trust they have placed in me, and I thank them from the bottom of my heart.

Wedding Toast: From Groom to his Parents
A toast to my parents who raised me and guided me to the place I am today. I only pray that my own marriage will be as strong as theirs, and I want them to know that where ever my path may lead me, they will always be in my heart.

10 Groom speech tips
1 You will be speaking on behalf of your bride when toasting or thanking those for their efforts and contributions to the wedding.Make sure to mention this in all of your thank you’s.

2 Make sure to honour both sets of parents.Pay the bride’s family your utmost respect and thanks for putting on the event.Thank your parents for their love, support and guidance.

3 Make sure to keep the alcohol to a minimum before your speech. It may seem like a good idea, but could cause you to say something too controversial about your bride in front of her family and other guests.

4 Make sure to include lots of flattery of the bride on this day.Throughout the event, whether it be a toast, your grooms speech,or thank you’s,try to work in some compliments.Tell everyone how beautiful she looks, how much you love her,and how much she means to you.

5 Make sure to have a glass of water at hand. Also make sure you have a full glass of champagne for that toast to the bridesmaids.

6 Another useful tip for your wedding speech is to put your notes on small index cards and tie them together with a twist tie so that they stay in order.

7 In your groom speech never mention past relationships, old girlfriends or first marriages. It’s inappropriate at a wedding and could be embarrassing.Even if comparing your new wife favourably, she will not be impressed.

8 Make sure your stories about you and your bride are suitable for the audience as there may be children present. As well as aunts, uncles and grandparents †try to keep it clean, nothing Xrated.

9 When delivering your speech make sure you have a table in front of you.You will feel a lot calmer as opposed to doing it â€naked†before the audience.Even experienced speakers prefer to have a podium in front of them.

10 When thanking your best man in your groom speech you may want to say a few nice words about him and maybe even get in a friendly dig,as he will surely be telling humorous stories about you.
