The Most Effective Household Cleaners

By: Vince P.Platania,Jr. Home | Home-and-Family | Home-Improvement

Your home should protect you, right? Well, it can only do this job if you do yours. The number one most important job you will to for your home is to keep it clean. If you do not your home will become host to thousands of germs, bacteria, and mold. The result of this will be you and your family becoming ill or develop allergies. Prevent this by using an effective cleaning solution. So how do you determine which the most effective household cleaners are and what about natural cleaners, can green be effective?

The most effective cleaners are combination cleaning agent and disinfectant. While some natural products do clean well they do not qualify as disinfectants. This means the germs are still present you just can not see them the way you would if the home were dirty. Commercial cleaners are your best choice for disinfecting your home. Commercial cleansers are also safe for the environment. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) must test and approve every cleaning product sold as a disinfectant; this means that many commercial products are just as â€green†as a natural product.

Even Plain water can remove dirt if you use enough elbow grease along with it. Do not let this clean appearance fool you. Just because the dirt is gone does not mean the germs and other infectious microbes are. To effectively kill germs you must use a cleaner that will destroy both acid responsive and non acid responsive germs. For those germs affected by acid a cleaner such as vinegar will work well, but it leaves behind the germs that are not affected by acid. If you are sure your abilities you may wish to create a solution from vinegar, baking soda, ammonia, and water. Be careful how you mix these. Both order and amount are important. One of the best disinfectants is bleach; however this requires strenuous scrubbing as it will not break down dirt and grime and may not safely be mixed with anything that will. Using bleach as requires other safety precautions that you may not be prepared to deal with also. If you are unsure about these processes you should purchase premixed germicidal or disinfectant cleansers.

Protect your family by using the proper disinfectant cleansers. Green is great, but healthy is better. When shopping for the most effective household cleaners remember; you are not just removing dirt! Buy a cleaning product that will kill all of the germs your family comes in contact with.
