The Most Effective Solution For Loud Snoring & Sleep Apnea

By: Dr. Don Closson Home | Business | Advertising

Nearly 50% of the time, chronic and loud snoring is associated with sleep apnea, which is a serious sleeping disorder, but the good news is that both snoring and sleep apnea can be effectively relieved with the use of a simple snoring solution when apnea is in the mild to moderate range.

Using a specially designed mouthpiece that serves not only as a snoring remedy but that can also effectively stop sleep apnea is a very cost efficient and noninvasive solution compared to other apnea cures.

A lot of snorers are not aware that there is a truly effective snoring cure that provides a top quality, highly advanced, and very comfortable method to ensure not only no snoring but also will stop apnea.

Until recently, only dentists specializing in the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea could provide mouthpieces that effectively treated both conditions. But now it is possible to find an anti snoring device that also controls sleep apnea but is as reasonably priced as the snoring mouthpieces found online.

One Size Fits All?

There are many one-size-fits-all anti snoring devices that promise to provide the most effective snoring cure. However, there are several drawbacks to a one-size-fits-all snoring mouthpiece that makes it hit or miss for stopping loud snoring and controlling apnea.

For a snoring mouthpiece to be effective for loud snoring and stop sleep apnea it must be able to position the lower jaw so that the airway is completely unobstructed. Since each personâ'â"s anatomy is different, there is a unique forward position of the lower jaw that enables the tongue to completely move away from not only the soft palate but also the back wall of the airway.

A one-size-fits-all device may move the lower forward enough to stop the snoring but not in a position that completely unblocks the back wall of the airway. It is in this area that loud snoring and sleep apnea can persist if not treated effectively.

So What is the Best Solution to Stop Loud Snoring and Sleep Apnea?

For a snoring mouthpiece to be effective for both snoring and sleep apnea it needs to be adjustable so the lower jaw can be properly positioned to completely open the airway. When using an adjustable mouthpiece, the lower jaw is incrementally moved forward until you find that optimal position that will not only stop snoring but also stop sleep apnea.

One-size-fits-all anti snoring devices are not capable of the proper incremental shifting of the lower jaw that effectively provides a snoring cure as well as a cure for apnea.

Using a Stop Snoring Mouthpiece That Stops Snoring and Sleep Apnea

If you could use a snoring mouthpiece, as not only a snoring solution but as an apnea cure as well, it would be a great advantage. But there are several additional factors besides adjustability that you should know about before selecting a snoring mouthpiece that is effective for both loud snoring and sleep apnea.

First, the mouthpiece needs to be customized for your unique jaw position and bite. The majority of people who suffer from snoring and apnea do not have a normal overbite. Unfortunately the one-size-fits-all anti snoring devices are made to work with only a normal overbite. If you have a slightly forward overbite, a severe overbite or an underbite, then the mouthpiece would not be comfortable or effective.

Second, the majority of people who snore and have apnea tend to grind their teeth in their sleep and/or have a jaw joint dysfunction referred to as a TMJ disorder. Again, the one-size-fits-all devices are not engineered to deal with either of these issues. And if a mouthpiece is not designed to accommodate nighttime grinding or TMJ, you will not only be uncomfortable at night, but also will wake up with sore muscles and jaw joints.

In summary, to be the most effective snoring solution for loud snoring and sleep apnea, the anti snoring device should be adjustable, be customized for your unique bite and jaw position, and able to function comfortably with your nighttime sleeping habits.
