The Nokia 6303 Classic Black is a phone which would not look out of place in the 1990's. Its styling is reminiscent of a bygone era when phones just simply made calls and didn't have all the additional paraphernalia they do have nowadays. Although its styling is old school its functionality certainly isn't and this is why it’s become a popular handset. The camera on this phone is 3.15 mega pixels and has a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. The camera has a built in LED flash which illuminates any subject matter considerably. The camera also provides the ability to record video at VGA quality and at 15 frames per second which means that it offers alternative options for capturing snapshots or video footage to review later. The internal memory is set at 64 Mb but can be expanded considerably by making use of the built in microSD ( Transflash ) slot provided. This allows expansion up to 4 Gb. The 2.2 inch TFT screen is the integral element of this phone and displays 16 million colour combinations which ensure efficient colour reproduction. Its resolution is set at 240 x 320 and as such is sufficient enough to provide a good quality of image and viewing capability. From an entertainment point of view the phone provides an MP3 player which also happens to play AAC and eAAC audio files as well as MP3. The phone also provides a handy stereo FM radio with RDS capability which gives the user the ability to choose between forms of musical entertainment as well as listening to either downloaded music or local and national radio stations. Connectivity is achieved with help from the GPRS and EDGE connections both of which are class 32 as well as the microUSB and blue tooth which enables file transfer between suitably enabled mobile phones. The phone also comes with Flashlite 3 and Nokia maps as well as a voice memo facility for recording voice notes whilst on the move. The Nokia 6303 Classic Black may well appear to be a dated handset, however when delving deeper into its functionality its clear it provides a plethora of features that are included in modern phones. This is a clever piece of marketing from Nokia, it provides the stylish old school looks with modern functionality.
