The Royal Court is one of the jewels in the crown of London"s theatre land. It boasts two playing spaces, the larger of which has some of the most comfortable leather seats anywhere. The venue in Sloane Square is the centre for new writing in British theatre. It also has a great bookshop and, in the basement, a bar which also serves great food. If you love theatre, it"s a great place to just hang around. The venue is also very successful and sells an awful lot of theatre tickets. In fact shows often sell out completely well before their run has finished which means that early booking is always advised. In 2009, two shows in particular were such hits that we have both received West End transfers. "Jerusalem" plays at the Apollo Theatre until the 24th April. Meanwhile "Enron" is at the Noel Coward Theatre and is currently booking until 8th May. Theatre tickets for both shows are currently available. The Royal Court is certainly not resting on its laurels in 2010 and already has some fantastic shows lined up. From 14 July until 14 August, there is the first play of Anya Reiss, a young writer nurtured by the Royal Court. It was written when she was just seventeen and is called "Spur of the Moment." It deals with a young girl on the brink of adolescence. Theatre tickets for this show are on sale now. The last play by such a precocious talent, "That Face" by Polly Stenham went on to have a West End transfer. Polly was the youngest playwright to have a West End production in over forty years.
