Being engaged in a postgraduate education, especially at one’s older age, becomes difficult nowadays. The individual wishing a higher degree in the interests of status, a higher position and a career change is likely to have family members, friends and work which also have to be attributed a major part of his / her time. Students that have only completed the undergraduate program may have much more time for learning, but taking into consideration the age, they may also want to begin their career at the same time with the postgraduate education. Hence, time isn't rubber, and it cannot be used without restrictions. How can a student manage time sufficiently to create a high-quality dissertation, to win a degree still to remain able to spend time with family members and at work? The article gives a deeper view on the topic. Family or Science - Why Make That Selection? 1. The person involved in the scientific research is likely to be very devoted to it, as it is a first step upwards in the individual and professional advancement. The motivation is completely sensible, and the person may attribute much time to severe studies, accomplishment of numerous projects and the academic research itself. Though, family is put aside and difficulties at work because of shortage of attention and dedication can appear. One should remember about priorities in his or her life, and never put education on the first place, overlooking other fields. Family is essential; work gives money to live and do research; hence, they all have to be on one level for the successful continuation of work and study. 2. Postgraduate students should prepare assignments, study for exams and create their academic work. However, they must spend time with their families and enjoy themselves besides work and studies. Finding some time for oneself can help reduce stress and will enhance the quality of studies as well.
