The World Of European Football - Craving Ways For Coaching And Playing?

By: RalphMcarther Home |

Handling a Soccer Ball with Accuracy

Keeping control of the soccer ball is one of the most important skills you can possess as a soccer player. This can be tough, especially when facing slippery fields and skilled opponents. There are several ways for you to improve your accuracy with handling the ball. Dribbling is important in terms of maintaining control of the ball. Practice dribbling around lots of different objects (both stationary and moving). As you improve, tighten the space you use around each of these objects, and try to improve your reaction time. Accuracy is obviously also important with goal shooting. One way to improve your accuracy is to use a kickspeed target. This gives you the added benefit of knowing how fast your kicks are (after all, accurate but slow kicks are easily caught). Other tools, such as a kicking net, allow you to work on handling the ball as it comes to you. Since few other soccer players bother to practice this skill, you will have an advantage over others on the field.

Great Equipment for Goalies

One of the most crucial pieces of equipment for a goalie is his or her goal. Start out with a small goal and develop your ability to defend that goal against any kind of shot that comes your way. Once you are proficient in guarding this smaller space, move up to a larger goal. Though the area you are defending is larger, many of the techniques you have perfected will be the same. As you move progressively to larger goals, you can focus on improving your reaction time and your overall agility. Some tools, such as the rebounding net, allow you to work on goaltending while developing other soccer skills as well. It lets you increase your accuracy with shooting at a specific target and agility for capturing the ball when it rebounds. You can even place a goalie net opposite to the rebounding net. One final piece of equipment every goalie should have is a pair of gloves. Look for a flexible material with a good grip.

Creating a Personalized Training System

If you want to become a truly great soccer player, create your own training program that lets you embellish your strengths while focusing on your weaknesses. Start with deciding how much time each day or each week you have to dedicate to soccer practice. Though it is important to be ambitious and set high goals for yourself, do not devise a plan that you will not be able to stick to. The best thing you can do with your plan is work it as consistently as possible. As you devise your training program, think about what areas of soccer skills you need to target. Decide which areas you should focus on, whether they be speed, accuracy, agility, or strength. Once you have done this, devise a plan that has you focus on each of these areas for a certain period of time. For example, if speed is a strength for you, it is important to spend a few minutes every day polishing that skill, but much more of your time will be focused on accuracy or strength. If you are not sure where to start, check with a coach or a parent for advice.

Goal Shooting Tools and Strategies

Improving your ability to score goals has a lot to do with improving your accuracy in shooting. There are many tools on the market that can help you with this goal. One idea is to buy a set of soccer net targets, which can be directly attached to soccer nets. These help you aim at a specific area of the goal. The targets can be moved easily to different areas of the net, allowing you to work with several different shots and angles. Keep in mind that as you practice, you should try to perfect each shot from several different directions. The targets also let you practice heading. You can also purchase more technologically advanced targets that measure the speed of your ball, so that you can improve the strength and speed of your kick along with your accuracy. If you are planning to spend some time practicing on your own, you can maximize your practice time by buying a rebounding net and attaching your targets to that.
