Theme Based Halloween Parties

By: Benjamin Hutch Home | Shopping-and-Products | Fashion-Style

Halloween is a great time to throw a party and let everyone join in the fun. These parties can be held in office as a means to break the usual monotony or they could be done at home over a weekend. There are several Halloween themes that you can choose from. Consequently all your guests will have to dress in accordance with the theme that you have selected.

Simple themes to select would be that of a haunted house where all the guests can dress as some of the elements that constitute the house. Your dcor can include spider webs, ugly creatures hidden in crevices and even make-believe spider webs. Another great theme for parties is graveyards and mausoleums. Your guests could come as skeletons, vampires, bats or even the graveyard caretaker. Your dcor could include eerie music, dulled lights, tombstone cut-outs and even an empty box that is made out to look like a coffin.

If you want a lighter theme, then you could through a party of the Victorian era or you could have a rave party of the 70s’. Your music, invitations and even your food and cutlery could all match the theme of your party. Halloween theme parties can largely be classified into adult parties and kiddie parties.

If you are throwing a theme party for adults, then an interesting idea would be to ask guests to come dressed as couples. For those already together it would be a great way to show their togetherness. For those who are single, this would be a good way to interact and find someone to partner with. You could always play cupid in between. Some great couple ideas would be Tom and Jerry, Tarzan and Jane and even Romeo and Juliet.

Another idea to liven up a party would be to ask couples to cross dress. Let them come as couples but with their dresses interchanged. It takes a bit of guessing to figure out who is dressed as whom. If blood and gore is more of what your friends’ circle likes, then you could have a Monster party where everyone comes as their favorite monster. Or better yet, you could have a Living Dead party or a Vampire convention.

Children’s Halloween theme parties of course have to be on the lighter side. How about throwing Alice in Wonderland’s tea party with the Mad Hatter? Another good idea is to sound out with all the children invited on what is their favorite cartoon show and accordingly set a theme where everyone gets to dress as a character they like. It could be Sesame Street, Winnie the Pooh and the 100 acre wood, Ben 10. Kids are bound to have a lot of fun.
