The historic town of Ukiah in Northern California's Mendocino County is home to a number of attractions and fun things to do that appeal to a variety of tastes. Ukiah Grace Hudson Museum: the Grace Hudson Museum focuses on the couple, Grace Carpenter Hudson and her husband John W. Hudson. Grace was an artist and her husband John was an ethnologist. Ukiah Municipal Golf Course: This Ukiah golf course has been challenging golfers since 1931, with 18 holes surrounded by trees and hills in the heart of Mendocino County. Coyote Valley Casino Ukiah: Coyote Valley Casino promises a memorable experience, whether or not you consider yourself a gambler. Hopland Sho-Ka-Wah Casino Ukiah: From slot machines to bingo, there are plenty of games to be played at the Hopland Sho-Ka-Wah Casino. Opened in 1998 about 20 miles south of Ukiah, the Casino of the Hopland Pomo Indians includes table games such as Baccarat and Fortune Pai Gow. Historic Downtown Ukiah Shopping: For those who love to shop, whether it's for fashion, flowers, or food, you won't be disappointed with Ukiah's retail choices. Downtown Ukiah is home to nearly 100 shops and there's something for just about everyone including antiques, sporting goods, wine tasting rooms, and art galleries. Ukiah Ridgewood Ranch & Seabiscuit: Located in Willits, California, just 19 miles from Ukiah, Ridgewood Ranch was the home of Charles S. Howard, owner of the legendary racehorse, Seabiscuit. Today, the Ranch is owned by Christ's Church of the Golden Rule, which runs cattle and preserves the Ranch's old growth redwoods. Festivals like the Wine & Mushroom Festival in November are part of Ranch events as are tours. Ukiah Yokayo Bowling Center: this is entertainment in the form or the Yokayo Bowling Center. Ukiah Skate City Roller Center: For wholesome family fun, roll on over to Ukiah's Skate City Roller Center. Lace up your skates-traditional four wheels or inline - for a variety of activities including skating lessons, roller derby, hockey for kids or adults, and birthday parties. Of course skates are available for rent. Regal Ukiah Stadium 6 Cinema: Movie buffs can't go wrong with this Regal Theater. Boasting six movie screens, Ukiah's South State Street cinema always has the latest cinematic offerings on hand. Enjoy special discounts on matinee movies. Mendocino County Library, Ukiah Branch: Visitors to Ukiah are welcome to browse the Mendocino County's branch library. The Ukiah Branch hosts an annual benefit book sale in the last weekend of September, and there are fun children's programs throughout the year.
