The county of Devon is in the south west of England and borders with Cornwall, Dorset and Somerset. The county is home to some of the most picturesque villages and towns that are ideal for anyone who appreciates the countryside. Many visitors from more urban areas love to visit Devon for its stunning coastline and award winning beaches. Whether you want to stay in a tent, caravan, holiday home, cottage or hotel; you are bound to have a great family holiday. The area boasts stunning cliffs, beautiful beaches, golden sand, fishing ports and the Jurassic coast.

Paignton Zoo
Paignton is the one the best places to take your children if they love animals. The zoo boasts an impressive collection of plants and animals, housed in various surroundings that recreate the desert, the savannah, a forest and the tropics. Look out for monkeys, zebras, baboons, bison, zebras and plenty of birds.
The zoo was originally set up in 1923 and is now an educational and scientific charity that aims to help conserve our global wildlife and also educate people about respecting animals.

Dartmouth Steam Railway
If trains are your thing then why not check out the Dartmouth steam railway on your Devon holiday. The trains run along 7 miles along the stunning Torbay coast to Churston and then through wooded slopes along the dart estuary. This day trip maybe more suited to couples who will appreciate the scenery and views you will see on your trip.

Woodlands Leisure Park
Another great place to take the kids in Devon is Woodlands Leisure park. This great day out for the family will have you walking around 80 acres of woodlands with plenty of things to see and do. The park is home to one of the UK’s largest indoor play areas, farm areas, falcon displays and various rides such as water coasters and toboggans.
