Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota -- the Vikings is a professional football team which goes back to 1961 when it played for the Western Conference until 1969 (the originally played under the AFC and moved on to the NFL), then for about 30 years (1970 to 2001) they were part of the national football conference Central division and recently (2002 to present) they have been part of the NFC North division. Championships and Important Moments: The Minnesota Vikings have participated in one NFL championship back in 1969 when they went up against the Cleveland Browns at the Metropolitan Stadium, the Vikings were able to overcome the Browns by a margin of 27 to 7. They have also participated in four conference championships and have acquired the maximum honors in the NFL Western in 1969, then they did it again in the NFC in 1973, 1974 and 1976. The Vikings have won several division championships with the participated in the NFL and NFC Central. For two consecutive years they were champions in the NFL Central division (1968 and 1969) and when it comes to the NFC Central they have an impressive track record which kept them undefeated for nearly 8 years. Those interested in watching the Vikings train at their training camp are more than welcome to stop by the Minnesota State University where there are several activities scheduled such as a "pass and kick day", cheerleader clinic and much more, these event will extend from July the 25th to August 14. With so much encouragement and community participation from the Vikings it goes without saying that the tickets for their games are going to sell very fast so don't stay out of the loop.
