Top Hair Loss Treatments

By: T. D. Crawford Home | Health-and-Fitness

An overwhelming number of both men and women will experience some form of hair loss in their lives. We can use wigs, apply multiple daily medications to our scalps, or spend thousands of dollars having follicles surgically removed and replaced onto our problem spots. Are there any alternatives to these remedies? Yes! Here are some non-medicated, non-surgical, wig-less alternatives that can keep your locks looking thick without breaking the bank or withering your libido.

Hair Building Fibers: if you are a man annoyed or embarrassed by a bald patch, or a woman with a widening part or visibly thinning hair, hair-building fibers are an excellent option for concealing these areas. Natural hair strands are made mostly out of a protein called keratin, so these products usually list keratin fibers as their main ingredient. When keratin fibers are sprinkled onto the scalp or sprayed onto a thinning area, they increase the thickness, density, and appearance of hair in that area. The best natural fiber sprays use a static charge to secure the product to the problem zone.

Scalp Concealers: this type of product can also be called masking lotion. It is a safe and effective treatment, designed with the same principles used for facial make-up. Scalp concealer is applied to the scalp, often by aerosol, and used to mask the shiny appearance of the scalp. One of the main reasons that thin patches or bald spots are unsightly is because of the high contrast between hair color and skin tone. Scalp concealer is a tremendously useful product-it can be used to cover gray roots, cover a bald patch, or conceal a scar from follicular transplant surgery (or other scars on the head). This type of product adheres well and gives a person a renewed sense of confidence by covering any imperfections in hair thickness.

Hair Thickeners: these treatments can be shampoos or conditioners. This type of product contains organic proteins that are absorbed into the hair strands, causing them to plump up and thicken. Thickening shampoos and conditioners are usually exceptionally effective at cleansing-with the added benefit that thin, fine, limp, or miniaturized tresses are infused with body, making them a good choice for almost anyone!

In conclusion, while none of these types of products will re-grow hair, they are inexpensive, instant, and can renew your confidence with absolutely no side effects! I dare medications or surgeries to make the same claim!
