By: Abel Smith Home | Travel-and-Leisure

New Zealand is a country that offers a very diverse range of tourist attractions and adventure activities. Beautiful lakes dot the landscape, and fiords dent the coastline. The many rushing rivers carve their way through the hills, and magnificent mountains .Whether river based sports such as white water rafting, or sea based such as surfing or kite boarding, there is a comprehensive list.Tramping and hiking are very popular pastimes, and there are tracks that range from a few hours to a few days to traverse, with rivers and streams, waterfalls , alpine plants, springs and magnificent mountain and coastal scenery. Most traditional Maori culture is found in the North Island, where the majority lived. But we do many things a little differently. Which is why our fashion designers, have become well known internationally for the originality. Te Papa in Wellington is the official National Museum. A fabulous place to spend the day, Waiau Waterworks is an innovative theme park with whimsical contractions and machines all powered by water.A wild trout fishery experience and education facility, here you can learn about everything to do with trout, fishing and New Zealand's freshwater ecology.

I appreciate the difficulties in getting all the relevant information for visas, itineraries, flights and accommodation.New Zealand is small enough that most of it can be seen in a relatively short amount of time, provided you have a vehicle.Motorhome holidays are a popular choice for tourists in New Zealand. Most holiday parks now offer a number of options-from tent sites to powered campervan sites to self-contained chalets. The combination has proved popular with kids and adults alike. Holiday parks are also communal places, and campers enjoy getting to know other holiday-makers.If you have kids with you, there are grassy patches where you can enjoy a large family picnic. The Ellis Island Junior Ranger competition gives kids a chance to compete even as they explore the island.

The upper deck of the observatory is approximately 850 feet above the level of the street and offers a stunning view of the bustling city underneath. This is a ferry ride that is short from the island of Stewart where you can capture the spectacular Rakiura National park.It also covers underwater experiences, restaurants, theatres, casino, and shopping for you to buy what you want. The activities give you adventure that you can treasure for the rest of your life and the one that you will never forget. Although both the islands are gorgeous and interesting, you will find the South Island to be more of a paradise. There are a number of famous places that can be visited here as well. Some of the popular travel places here include Rotorua, Lake Taupo, Auckland and Wellington.Whale Watch run regular boat trips to view them and on our trip we observed a sperm whale as well as seals and wandering albatross. Even without the wildlife Kaikoura was one of my favorites. The town of Franz Josef is itself a pleasant place to stay - we stayed at the campsite called Rainforest Retreat a short walk from the village centre. The cruises on the sound are spectacular but if I were proficiant in a kayak than that is the way I would have chosen to explore Milford Sound.
