In a post-modern world, environmental concerns have become increasingly more evident in man's endeavors upon the earth. By controlling the turbidity levels, the negative impact on water systems can be kept to a minimum level. Controlling turbidity is not just a good idea, it is something that is required in some areas, and regulated by certain authorities. There are regulations that are in place that have been enacted to control the turbidity levels in construction zones. There are agencies that monitor turbidity levels and also enforce the regulations concerning turbidity levels. It may not be possible to negate all of the negative impact that man has and has had upon the planet, but through the use of tools such as turbidity curtains, turbidity barriers, and silt barriers the impact can be lessened.
