Turn Offs While Dating

By: Match Maker Pty Ltd Home | News-and-Society | Dating

A very old and famous saying says "First impression is the last impression". This plays a very crucial role where dating is concerned. So make sure you know what turns off your date when you are meeting them for the first time. Second dates are possible only if you have a complete success in the first one.

Proper etiquette and good mannerisms are always welcomed where dates are concerned especially among women. They definitely fall for chivalrous guys.

Check out these dating turn offs before you plan the first date with your potential companion-

Being drunk is not applicable. Don't drink too much on your first date. Keep a track of your drinking. People generally tend to forget how much they are drinking especially when they are having a great time. The safest way is not to drink at all.

Try not to be desperate. Keep your eyes on your date and do not loiter around. It's annoying and disrespectful for your date when you roam your eyes on people from the opposite sex.

Controversial topics should be avoided. Make sure you don't raise topics that create friction between you and your date. Hot topics like religion, politics and more can lead to a wrong direction. Talking about "ex" can also be, a total turn off where first dates are concerned.

Avoid bringing a friend along on your date. This gives the other person an idea that you are not interested to know them. Group date is a totally different matter but otherwise don't ruin your vibrant date by doing silly things.

Don't pick up calls. Ringing cell phones can be highly bothersome to your date. On top of that if you start answering calls, it can ruin the entire date! turn it off to be on a safer side. If the date isn't going well then be honest and end it rather than giving emergency call excuses.

Be a good listener. Don't try to be dominating. This goes especially for all you men out there! Don't [in capital letters] try to dominate the conversation! This really turns off women and gives you an impression of a chauvinist. Be focused on the conversation. Do ask questions but give your date the opportunity to do the same.

Lying is infuriating. This will lead to a low creditability factor. Honesty leads to successful relationships as well as make them ever lasting.

Latecomers are not welcomed. If you don't want to step on the wrong foot then be punctual. In case you feel you can be late, call your date in advance and let them know. Show them that you are looking forward to the date.

Let them make their own decisions. Don't be inconsiderate. Don't control them. This can be a turn off.

Eat properly. Have proper table manners and eat slowly. Don't give your date wrong impressions about your lifestyle and habits. They might become negative about your mannerisms.
