Have you seen the latest footwear craze? Uggs. Ugg boots are fast becoming the hottest thing in fashion footwear, and for good reason. They boots look great, are some of the most comfortable footwear you can put on your feet, and are hot worldwide. Problem is, they aren't cheap. It is soft and can be damaged easily, and should not be worn in wet, muddy or snowy conditions. The boots can be waterproofed and cleaned, but it is quite difficult to waterproof them against anything except low levels of water ingress, and cleaning isn't necessarily always successful. Uggs became well known in the 60s and 70s when they were discovered by surfers and swimmers in Australia. They are extremely warm and anyone who is silly enough to go surfing in the winter winds up with extremely cold feet. Slip on a pair and your feet are warm in no time. And because they are made from sheepskin they are about the most comfortable boots you could own. Over the last few years Uggs have made their debut on the international footwear scene and have become fashion footwear items that are highly sought after. They come in many shapes sizes and styles and there is an Ugg design to appeal to just about everyone. Problem is, sheepskin boots aren't cheap. Whilst they were very cheap boots in Australia some decades ago, their climb up the fashion ladder has also become a climb up the price ladder. The author has seen Uggs with retail prices of $999 in some stores, and regularly with prices around $500. So if you love Uggs and are unable to cough up $500 or more for a pair, are you destined to wear inferior footwear for the rest of your life? There are places to buy cheap Uggs.
