By: Cash unclaimed Home | Finance | Investments

Recently, the buzz about volumes of unclaimed money and properties had proliferated on the news and the Internet. You could see advertisements everywhere alerting people of their possibly forgotten assets left in agencies and banks in various states.

These unclaimed cash or property could be in the form of un-cashed checks or gift certificates, credit balances, company refunds, dormant bank accounts, or any asset that has been forgotten by their respective owners. Whether the reason is hectic work schedule or a sudden change of address, these unclaimed cash and property remained in agencies untouched and inactive.

According to a recent study, there’s an estimate of 400 billion dollars worth of unclaimed money in the United States alone. And the case is the same with other countries like Texas, which holds one of the biggest amounts of unclaimed cash and properties. Reports even confirm that the worth continues to mount up as new records were found.

Unclaimed money in Texas

Last year, several agencies in Texas have announced that they have found thousands and millions worth of unclaimed cash and properties in their records. Most of these frozen assets were retrieved from forgotten bank accounts, undelivered checks, security deposits and utility refunds.

According to the report from NBC, the Texas State Comptroller has enlisted names of owners of unclaimed Texas money, either from refunds, undelivered checks or cash left in a will. While most of the owners are individual citizens, there are also businesses and institutions listed.

The Texan Comptroller Susan Combs also affirms an eager return of these unclaimed Texas money or property to their rightful owners. The government broadcasted their attempts to return all of these assets as soon as possible.

As of the moment, the government holds at least 2 billion dollars worth. The numbers grow as they uncover more records.

Finding your unclaimed cash

If you have lived in Texas or had any transactions made in the said state, perhaps now is the time to check whether you have left some assets behind. You are perhaps one of the owners of these unclaimed Texas money accounts. Some sources even confirm that most of these unclaimed Texas money reports hold serious assets, which may be the key solution to your dying financial status.

However, we can’t just fly back and forth and verify names in each record. Not only is it costly but there’s no guarantee that we do have a frozen account in that state. One of the best ways to see if you’ve got a sleeping Texas asset is through online database search.

Online database search engines like Cash Unclaimed allows you to browse through archives of various states and locate unclaimed assets. This technology is acknowledged and holds records open for you.

Nevertheless, the Texas government opens their files to anyone who wants to check their names. You may never know if you left accounts or properties in places you had lived or made businesses in. In today’s economic slump, everybody could use some extra cash to alleviate expenses especially if you are an entrepreneur.
