Detection and removal of malicious software is easier said than done. If you are an advanced user, chances are that you will know how to protect your computer against these pests but still there is no guarantee you wont catch them. Detection and removal of spyware and adware can be done at no cost. You can do this with the help of special programs, which will guard your computer against these threats. Do not underestimate malware unlike spam (which might be unpleasant but cant ruin your life, adware and malware can. So, how can Internet users protect their computers and themselves against the malware pest? With the help of antimalware programs, of course. But watch out there are programs, which do more harm than good. For instance, last week I got a free anti-malware program. Not surprisingly, the program discovered tons of suspicious files and recommended to remove them asap. But surprisingly, the free program didnt want to clean all this stuff unless I paid $50 for the full version. I guess, this is called an attempt to rip off users! But the drama didnt end here the program continued to harass me even after I had closed it. It kept displaying messages such as You are at risk of identity theft, Do you know who is spying you?, etc. Of course, this didnt make me willing to buy the full version and I decided to uninstall the program. Imagine my surprise when a message informed me that access is denied! My computer and my files, and I cannot add or remove programs of my choosing! Want to bet? In the end, I had to do a system restore to a point in time prior to downloading the program that is supposedly designed to prevent such problems. The time has come to find the software to a program I can trust and comes well recommended. One of the best solutions I have found is Ad-aware. Personally, not having a lot of extra money to spend, I am perfectly content with last year's free version. However, there are also Pro and Plus versions available at a reasonable fee. Presumably, the paid programs have added features, and probably scan computers in greater detail. In my case only restoring the system to a cleaner state was the fix I needed. For me the most unpleasant was that this program was just what one should watch out for when downloading freeware and any other software. It turned out that it costs less to buy a reliable spyware and adware detection and removal program, then to expect help from freeware. In short, if you spend any time at all visiting the Internet, your computer can use malicious software spyware and adware detection and removal. Despite best efforts, it is like a house without a screen door. The occasional bug will get into your computer, and you will need to get out the software fly swatter.
