Understand Acne Facts And Clear Your Face

By: Ken Black Home |

Zits, pimples, whiteheads and blackheads are considered Acne. Many individuals, especially teenagers suffer from these, as they are all part of the same frustrating disorder. Actually, many individuals feel that acne is one of the worst issues of puberty.

Most teenagers are very self conscious while going through the physical changes of puberty such as, growing hair both facial and in private areas, while their voice begins changing or they begin their menstrual cycle, add to this the frustration of acne pimples and things become even more difficult. Where does acne come from?

Acne vulgaris is the medical term for common acne. Acne is caused by a multitude of factors. An excess of testosterone is produced by the body of a male, while the body of a female begins changing on the onset of their menstrual cycle, each of these can throw the hormone balance of either into a mysterious cycle.

Keep in mind that these and other adolescent changes process these teenagers into adults, and acne is a prospect. Keep in mind that a stuff like bacteria grows naturally on the skin, in abundance many of the problems caused by acne begins to clog skin pores with dead skin cells.

Of course, other things can cause acne as well as irritate it. For instance, too much exposure to chlorine can be the culprit of causing a nasty type of acne that is long lasting, and the use of anabolic steroids as well as other health problems can cause acne.

In the past, many individuals claimed that poor hygiene was the cause and many a teenager scrubbed their faces raw while cleaning, while trying to open their pores and remove zits and pimples. In reality, this only makes the condition worse while damaging the skin.

There was also the misconception that foods of a certain type such as chocolate and fried foods were the cause of acne. Of course, this may have been a natural assumption since a teenager most likely love eating candy and chocolates as well as French fries, tater tots and hamburgers and other sorts of fried foods. There is no scientific connection associated with greasy foods and oily skin. Acne is a natural though nasty part of growing into adulthood.

The majority of individuals outgrow the tendency of acne as their body changes while reaching the end of puberty. Generally, by the time most individuals reach their twenties, the ravages of acne are finished. However, for many others acne may continue, although the majority only experience acne as a fleeting issue of puberty. As an individual enters into their adult years, time will cure most cases of acne.

There are two different categories of acne blemishes, non-inflamed and inflamed. Whiteheads and blackheads are the form of non-inflamed, while a whitehead of a clogged skin pore it is made up of dead skin cells. Blackheads on the other hand are the same as whiteheads, the only difference is the blackhead, has been touched by oxygen and then turned darker, blackheads are not dirt.

Pimples and zits are inflamed acne blemishes; they are generally red with inflammation. The classic is the red pimple, while the larger cyst is even more irritating.

These pimples normally develop when a whitehead does not turn into a blackhead; rather it begins to plug the pore. When this happens the pore wall breaks down becoming a repository for dead skin cells, oil, bacteria and other waste from the body. White blood cells then rush to the area to fight infection as a substance of pus builds creating a painful situation. A larger cyst is even more painful as it can flair up repeatedly and may require medical services.

Unfortunately, there are various acne misconceptions. Some individuals seek a suntan as an acne cure all when this only darkens the skin making acne harder to see while indulging in such future side effects such as skin cancer or wrinkles.

Keep in mind that there are many acne treatments on the market such as natural remedies, over the counter and prescription drugs, which can be most helpful.
