Understanding Bichon Frise Dogs

While it is so easy to fall in love with any breed of dog, Bichon Frise dogs seem to be able to get the most attention when it comes to people falling in love at first sight. But there is more to know about selecting a dog than whether or not you think it is cute and adorable. You must research the personal traits that are common with that specific breed in order to make sure that your life and the life of the Bichon Frise can come together smoothly.

It is important, as with any breed of dog, to make sure that you and that little puppy can leave together in harmony. So, before making that big decision to expand the size of your family, make sure that the lifestyle of the Bichon Frise and your lifestyle match up and you will have many years of happiness ahead of you. Make the wrong decision and you will either have to live with your regrets or find the dog a new home, which can be hard.

This small breed, known as the Bichon Frise, does not require a lot of exercise so they make perfect pets for the elderly or anyone who cannot get out a lot to a yard or a park and this means that apartment living would be fine as well. Even though they are small in size you do not want to be fooled as these little ones are actually very sturdy.

And for those who are among the millions who suffer from allergies, the Bichon Frise do not shed even though their curly coat may make you think other wise. Also, this breed is not very aggressive but will alert their owners that there is a stranger present if the need ever came about which of course, it someday will. While these are excellent points for anyone, make sure you continue to learn more about them before making your final decision.

Now while there are a lot of wonderful qualities in Bichon Frise dogs, there are also a lot of things that you may not like so much and that really need thought about before bringing one home. This breed to notorious for having problems with housebreaking so this could mean extra messes for a while.

Also, you must be prepared to take a little bit of extra time and compassion for house breaking because the Bichon Frise are well know for their problems with house breaking.

And along with that, they are known for having a lot of skin problems during their lifetime, which could end up meaning a lot of trips to the vet's office for treatment. If all of that is still sounding good to you and you want a Bichon Frise, then you are probably a good match for each other.

Now, if that was not enough to scare you away from the Bichon Frise, then this may very well be the dog for you.
