By: alan L smith Home | Internet-and-Business | Web-Design

Your logo is heavily used for marketing purpose and your designing idea should initiate with a confirmation to depict your business as professional and competitive. Do not consider logo as just art word! You should avoid using elements that may give a dated look. A logo design should definitely take into consideration of when and where the logo will be used.

Logos are counted as visual art that simply provide an unparallel identification element to a business because Logos gives instant visual identification of a Company which in-turn builds branding. Business owners can often go wide in their attempts to design the logo. You can find many examples of logo designs that look dull like abstract or just seem to be nothing more than whimsical art because many of these logos are designed without creative thoughts of application usage or even cost impact upon a business.

So how will you create a logo that makes business sense?
You should consider following a few simple guidelines:
Design a logo in graphics software program which uses Vector properties because vector graphics maintain their design quality when resized and maintain and there is no deprivation in lucidity and acuteness or definition and the file size remains constant. A very well known commonly used program for creating vector graphics is Illustrator.

Software like Photoshop works well in pixels is better suited to working with photos and texture style areas. You can prepare your original graphics in whatever software program that you like but have it recreated in a vector graphics format before you take print or recreate your logo because a logo is all about sharp image.

You should avoid complicated designs because a logo that is too cumbersome generally obstructs rapid visual identification. The audience will have to understand the image in order to process the image in the mind and connect its identification to a given company. One more reason to stay away from cumbersome designs is that they do not reduce well and very busy and intricate logo on the side of a company truck may look wonderful but when the same logo is reduced in size for use on a business card it may become a meaningless blob of ink so keep it simple and clean.

You also need to restrict your color selection to a maximum of three or four colors. You should go with few colors because argues for this is for printing visiting cards as well as letterhead the price will be increased because for every additional color that you require.
