Using Your Website To Gain Subscribers For Email Marketing

Have you had a hard time gaining subscribers to your email list? There are many ways to drive more peopel to your email list. Below are a few tips that can help your business achieve that goal.

Building a mailing list is a methodic process whether it is for standard mail or for email marketing. While there are any numbers of ways to build a list, depending on your business, some may work better than others. One method that tends to be pretty universal is encouraging website visitors to opt in to your mailing list. However, visitors very rarely simply decide to fork over their email addresses unless you ask for them. Here are some tips that you can use to encourage your visitors to join your list.

Make It Obvious

The first thing that you want to do is to let your visitors actually know that you are building a list and you would like to include them on it. Keep your language very clear about what you plan to do with their email, and how they can opt out if they change their mind. Make it easy for them to find where to sign up.

Offer an Enticement

Offer something for anyone who signs up for your list. Customers love special discounts reserved only for them; it can be a regular newsletter, or it can be a free gift. Try changing your wording until you get presentation that really drives people to sign up to be included on your list. Remember that many people have given out their emails and suddenly start receiving spam, so they may be a little reluctant to sigh up. With a little incentive, though, they may decide to give you a try.

Keep It Simple

Have the sign up process be quick and simple. Don't ask for too much detailed informaion, or people may feel you are being invasive. If this person is interested in knowing more about you and eventually doing business with you, they will come to you. You'll need their email address to stay fresh in their minds. Don't ask them for too much information right away or they may not sign up.

Be Responsive

As soon as they subscribe send your new prospect their email and a thank you message which has them click through to complete the process. This way you can confirm their email address. You will make sure that you are emailing to a valid address, and you will be sure that they did not sign up by accidentally hitting the wrong button.

Revise your pitch until enough people begin to sign up. Always make sure that you emails are worth the time that your recipients will spend reading them, and soon enough you will find people looking forward to their mailing. Find out where you can access website activity and begin your marketing database.
