The second season of Heroes has been more than just disappointing with a bunch of plotless and pointless characters, slow storylines and lack of interaction between the original Heroes. But despite all the negative reviews from most fans, Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia says that the cast and crew still did their best to deliver and do their job well. "You just gotta know that, ultimately, the work that you're doing, the work that you're putting in, it's your best efforts, and it's everybody's best effort," Ventimiglia said in a conversation with writer Bob "Mr. Media" Andelman. "That being said, though, all those best efforts have to come together in sync. Otherwise, the show doesn't have a heart." Ventimiglia, who plays Peter Petrelli on the once-highly-watched series, Heroes, also admits that fans could easily get impatient when they don't get what they want and that the production must be able to strike a balance between "giving and getting." Moreover, Heroes' slow season further encountered some trouble when the WGA strike took place in November, thus causing the production to cut back and just end the season. Unable to deliver a full season, the finale is set to air on December 3. "I think the producers, it was their intent to give some kind of a wrap-up to what became a very short season just so that people weren't left with too many questions," Ventimiglia said. "In my opinion, it was a good thing to do to, hopefully, tie up a couple loose ends, and we leave people wanting a little bit more." The effects of the WGA strike has been widely felt, and numerous actors were forced to find work elsewhere. Despite this, Ventimiglia won't be joining that wave as he wants to focus on Heroes, with which he has a contract that he "hopes to honor." "I'll be on the show, I think, as long as they would have me and as long as I'm obligated to it and put my best work forward, and I'll leave everything else up to time," he explained. "I've got other ambitions, but when it comes to the show, and when we're in production, that's what I'm doing."
