If it is in storage you will probably want to clean it when you remove it from storage and again before you return it to storage. If this is a banner that will be hanging for long periods of time you need to look at the environment it is hanging in. If it should be hanging outside with a lot of dust and dirt, or is touched by a lot of people you will want to clean it more often. If it is hanging on a wall, inside and is away from most people and environmental effects it can be cleaned much less often.
