Visit The Persian Gulf At Your Bahrain Hotel.

By: Gareth Hoyle1 Home | Travel-and-Leisure

Bahrain is well known mainly for its oil, and the riches that has brought to these islands set in the Persian Gulf can be seen. Bahrain is a business centre of the world, with many multinational organisations and financial centres having their head quarters there. Consequently a Bahrain hotel is used to dealing with many nationalities, and in fact though this is a Muslim country, it has in general a much more relaxed approach to western society than many of its neighbours. This makes it a great destination for tourists as well as businessmen.

The winters in Bahrain are mild and pleasant, but the summer can be very hot, so during the summer months you will need your high factor sunscreen and remember to drink plenty. Because of the sunshine, water sports are very popular and there are plenty of places to swim in the lovely clear waters of the Arabian Ocean before you go back to the coolness of your Bahrain hotel, maybe after some sailing or scuba diving.

Bahrain is a great place for international shopping. When you leave your Bahrain hotel for the day, you can visit luxury shops and boutiques. For are different shopping experience you should visit a souk or local market. Here you can buy almost anything; though beware, it is unlikely to be a designer article. A bargain though is a suit or dress from one of the local tailors. Incredibly skilled, they can make your item of clothing in any available material you choose for a fraction of the normal price †and completely handmade.

Bahrain is also famous for its formula 1 motor racing. The Bahrain Grand Prix is held here every year and the razzamatazz of the racing circuit attract numerous visitors. At this time of year the streets of Bahrain will be buzzing so it is best to book your Bahrain hotel early to be sure of your accommodation. As well as the Grand Prix golf is popular, with a grass golf course close to the city. The course is delightfully laid out with lakes as well as greenery and is perfect for an early morning round of golf.

Though a modern country with its spectacular skyscrapers and impressive skyline in the city area, Bahrain also has history dating back many thousands of years. The Bahrain National Museum is well worth a visit. Also a major tourist attraction though you will need a car to get there, is the amazing Tree of Life. Standing alone in the desert, this tree is believed to be about 400 years old. You can get directions from your Bahrain hotel but drive carefully as you will be out in the desert driving on sandy tracks.
