I’ve got to say, I’m not much for spring cleaning. But when it comes to getting your home based small business ready for the growth that is sure to come, the best way to do it is to completely de-clutter your space. Research has actually been done on the effects of getting rid of stuff you no longer need. Your mood lifts, and you are better able to focus. Many will tell you that the extra space you have leaves room for growth. Here’s what Feng Shui experts will tell you about clutter: Clutter is stuck energy that has far-reaching effects physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It can make you feel tired and lethargic. Clearing out the clutter frees the energy in your home or office and releases new vitality in your body. If you know anything about feng shui, it’s all about the flow of energy. When your office is cluttered, energy is not flowing â€" there is no room for anything new. In business that can translate to no new opportunities, or clients, or money. Clutter acts like an overfilled closet â€" when you’ve run out of room there is no space for the new. Clutter reflects worry, it’s depressing and it bogs you down. Some entrepreneurs wear their clutter like a red badge of courage â€" almost proudly, â€Yes, I know this place is a complete mess, but I can put my finger on whatever I need almost instantaneously! De-cluttering releases the bonds that have been holding you back and ignites the fires of energy within you.†He also told me that things start to fall into place in every area of your life when you de-clutter your surroundings. Let’s say you believe just a little of what the experts say, we can all use more customers, more opportunities, more money in our home based small business †it might be worth getting rid of the clutter.
