Want To Look Young?

By: Gen Wright Home | Health-and-Fitness

Most of us want to look as young as possible. No one likes to be catapulted into looking older than we need too and millions of dollars are spent each year on creams and lotions to try and keep us looking youthful. These so called anti-aging creams and treatments are usually very expensive but people don't seem to care about the cost factor as long as it they show results.

But these creams are just things to put on the outside of the skin and can only do so much. If you truly want to remain youthful you can take certain precautions to keep your skin healthy, refreshed and youthful from the inside.

All of us know and have heard about the health benefits of proper exercising. Working your muscular system and keeping it strong helps you lose or maintain your weight, keeps you stress free, gives you more energy and protects you from disease. Now we know that one of the most effective and cheapest ways of looking, feeling and functioning youthfully is good old strength training exercise.

It is hard to look youthful without good muscle tone. Not only can you not have a strong, firm, lean, shapely body your face has muscles as well. If these are not kept toned it is a bit pointless piling creams and lotions on top of saggy baggy skin. You may even have noticed that people who regularly exercise and keep their muscles strong have fewer wrinkles on their faces and look way younger than people who are sedentary.

The secret is that when you perform a strength training program even though you may be working say your legs your face is getting a workout as well. When you put a bit of effort into your exercise session you can't help but brace your entire body against the resistance and your facial muscles get the benefit of this as well.

When muscles increase their strength and therefore their tone and firmness the skin that is attached to them is pulled tighter and has a lifting effect reducing sagginess and wrinkles.
This can give you results similar to a face lift taking ten or more years off the way you look a hundred times better than any cream can and will continue to slow the rate your face ages as long as you keep doing it.

You won't give these sorts of results from recreational type activities like walking, jogging or cycling. These do not meet the definition of proper exercise working your muscles through their ranges of movement under a load. These activities are most certainly part of an active and fit lifestyle but if you want real anti aging benefits both for your body and your face you will have to work your muscular system properly.

The earlier in life you begin looking after your muscle and bone strength the more youthful you will look. There is no substitute for keeping your strength it is something we all must do. Not only will it keep you strong, healthy and well it will make you look a million bucks no matter your age.
