Oh, it must be fleas. Scratching is commonly seen when a dog has fleas. Fleas can cause serious health problems for dogs if left untreated. Death can also occur. Fleas can dogs to become anemic. What can be done to treat a dog with fleas?

There are many products available to treat fleas.

Flea powder

Flea Collars

Flea Shampoo

Dipping

Dipping alone will not kill the fleas dogs have. Dogs 8 to 10 weeks old should not be dipped. This alone can kill the puppies. A soap and water bath can help in removing the fleas from puppies. A flea comb is advised in removing fleas from puppies. MYCODEX ( tm) is a shampoo used for washing your dogs in to rid themselves of fleas. This is an insecticidal shampoo.

Everyday household Pine Sol is good in dipping your dogs in. It really kills fleas.

Flea Collars helps to control large infestations of fleas. Two popular names is the Frontline and Advantage.

Frontline repels against fleas for three months. This can be used on dogs even if they have allergies.

Advantage is for adult dogs. The flea poison is available in liquid. Apply to the dog's back and it start killing fleas immediately. Advantage works for a month.

Flea Powder is very poisonous. When using flea powder you need to treat the dog, and it's bedding. You may prefer to vacuum your cushions on your furniture if you have any. Discard of the vacuum bag after you are finish. Put flea powder in the trash can in case any fleas happen to escape the vacuum bag.

If you have an indoor dog , you may want to add flea powder in the vacuum bag to keep fleas from escaping or crawling out.

Pets need to be groomed properly. Have your pet washed and trimmed. There are professionals that have the job of grooming your pets. If you care about your pets , you should have them groomed and seen by a veterinarian on a regular schedule.

You know that dog is man's best friend. If this is true , dogs should be give attention. Observe their nature . If it changes , consult your veterinarian for an appointment.

You wouldn't let a sick child lay around the house. Let the love you have for your dog show by the way you care for it. Dogs have been known to save their owners life.

Some dogs have important jobs like : leading the blind. These dogs deserve to be pampered and cared for.
