Website Marketing Local Internet Marketing Long Island Ny

By: Tyler Trax Home | Business | Advertising

Website marketing is an essential aspect of a businesses success. The multifaceted process can be simplified by using a promotional Adwords coupon from Google and sending traffic to your website. Google is trying to encourage this as much as possible, constantly offering $75 and $100 vouchers for their Adwords service, making it easier than ever for a small business to start a local internet advertising campaign.

In the same breath, Google Adwords isn't as easy as it used to be, and there's definitely more than meets the eye. Let's say that a small business owner goes to Google Adwords and wants to start to promote their small business. They manage to write an ad, pick a couple of keywords that are relevant to their business and they launch their advertising campaign. Most people aren't going to be familiar with Google's keyword tool, which might tell you that 50,000 people search for "roof repair" per month, but that 150,000 people search for "roof repairs" per month. This doesn't even take into account the fact that "roof repair" might cost $1.00 and "roof repairs" might cost $0.50.

We still haven't addressed the fact that most business owners are looking to market and advertise their business to local consumers. Granted Google is doing everything in its power to make their results more relevant and return listings that apply to the location that a user is searching for, but that doesn't solve the problem at hand. Using the same example as before, Google's keyword tool will tell you that only 100 people search for "roof repair long island" and that 150 search for "roof repairs long island" AND that 250 people search for "roof repair long island ny."

At this point, I'm exhausted already and I know what I'm doing! If you're looking to promote small business services that you provide to people in the area that you do business in, you're best bet might be to use Facebook ads for your local internet marketing efforts. Facebook allows you market and advertise to people located in your specific demographic area, as does Google but I think Facebook is a lot more specific.

Going back to the same example, you can tell Facebook to show your ad to people that live in Long Island and to any city located within a 20 mile radius of Long Island, or any city on Long Island. You don't have to tell them which keywords you want to use, and you can probably get the ad for a very reasonable price.

Local search marketing, in which consumers are going to Google and typing in "roof repairs" and are looking for roofers in their local area, has become more relevant than ever. The last statistic I read was that approximately 80-85% of all consumer buying starts online. So if people are searching for your small business and services, you want to be able to be found when someone searches for your in Google. If someone takes out their cell phone and searches for you, you want to be able to be as close to the top as possible in the Google results, plus have as many listings as possible on the first page as well, a concept we can hit on at another time.

A tremendous part of marketing and advertising on the Internet is leveraging the power of being able to reach potential customers that don't live in your immediate area. It might not work for some people who are looking to promote small business services that can only be provided to local consumers, but I'm sure there's a way to work around that as well. The Internet allows you to automate your sales process from beginning to end, and doing it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Local Internet marketing, local search marketing and local internet advertising is the way to go, but take away the word "local" from the beginning and the real power of small business Internet Marketing becomes limitless.
