By: Leena Babuta Home | Health-and-Fitness

Looking beautiful is the heartiest wish of every person. But, sometimes what happens is a person becomes overweight. He gains more weight than required. Sometimes obesity makes a person look ugly. Changing dietary habits and doing some regular exercise are two important ways in which one can keep himself physically fit and can avoid obesity naturally. But, these days there are many people who look forward to weight losing tablets for reducing their weight easily and frequently. But, they don"t understand that sometimes these pills have severe side effects as well. Weight loss pills are actually recommended for those persons who are medically obese. Their obesity is root cause of many other diseases as well. In such cases, these pills help in reducing the risk of serious medical illness.

These pills are basically of two types:

1. Prescription Pills: These are the pills that require prescription by the physician. If one is suffering from obesity due to some medical problem, then these pills are recommended. They have more intense action than the OTC. But, these pills are reliable as they are clinically tested and their results have been proved. Phentermine, Xenical and Meridia, Acomplia are the Prescription pills.

2. Over the counter (OTC) Pills or Food Supplements: These pills do not have much intense action. But, their results have not been proved. People who want zero figures like models usually take such pills.

Both these pills have side effects which vary from headache to life threatening conditions.

Weight loss pills work in following three ways in your bodies:

1. Suppressing Appetite: they are also called anorectics and are composed of agents like sibutramine. They are short-lived solution to obesity, but their results are proven. They are generally prescription drugs and directly affect sections of brains which control appetite. Headaches, dizziness, nausea, hair loss to high blood pressure are its side effects.

2. Changing Body Chemistry by Altering the Processes: These pills work by affecting metabolism rate. Such pills are made up of substances like rimonabant, which is an appetite suppresser. Stomach related problems and high rise in body temperature are its side effects.

3. Inhibiting the Absorption of Certain Nutrients: These are further classified in three categories:

a. Fats Blockers: These restrain the absorption of the fats in body. These are the prescription drugs and example is orlistat. These are the neutral long term weight pills. Their side effects include disturbance of digestive system like oily and loose stool and nausea.

b. Fats Burners: These are meant for short-lived effect. Examples are thermogenesis and lypolisis. Side effects include nervous system problems, heart palpitations and high blood pressure.

c. Carbohydrates Blockers: These are meant for those who are suffering from diabetes mellitus. Its example include metformin.

An obese not only is the butt of jokes and ridicule but also a prime victim of various health hazards. Won’t it be great to get out of the hazardous ambit of obesity? Make a smart health decision and switch to Acomplia medication and relive yourself of that extra burden of pounds.

Robert Byrne once quoted, "The goal in life is a life of purpose." Going by the adage, we define the goal to live in the world, and which can be a little better than the good of your health.
