A downsize is not always a successful thing in a vehicle, but in the case of the new Volkswagen CC it has been. The CC is stylish but it seats only four instead of five like the Volkswagen Passat and it also has less trunk space. Oh yeah, and it costs $2,000 more. But it seems to be a hit and that’s what matters. Lately it has fallen to third place behind the Golf. But the CC is still the Volkswagen that it was except for the addition of DSG automatically shifted manual transmission, just like in the Passat. Actually, with the dealer-installed options like chrome exhaust tips and splash guards, you could be as high as $50,000 on this beauty. The Volkswagen CC provides a comfortable ride and it certainly has the class we would expect from the VW tradition. There is the lack of legroom in the back seat, though. Otherwise, the interior is a lovely. The fuel economy is lovely as well, with the four-cylinder averaging 21-22 mpg city and 31 highway and the V6 coming in at 18 and 27 for the front-wheel drive and 17 and 25 for the all-wheel drive.
