There are some great tanning products on the market that you will need for indoor tanning. That sounds pretty easy does it not? Well, the tanning salon would love you to buy from them since there is usually an eighty percent markup. All those accessories you need are also marked up. You can find those same products and accessories in other places and it will be a whole lot cheaper than buying them from the tanning salon in your area. There is one absolute piece of equipment than you will need if you are going to tan. No it is not tanning lotions, though those certainly help. It is protective eyewear. Those tiny pieces of plastic are essential to keeping your vision safe. They protect your eyes from what is known as arc burn. Arc burn occurs when a bright intensive light sears the corneas. Welders are prone to arc burn. That is why they wear protective hoods to keep their vision safe. Tanning booths give off ultra violet light which can pass through the closed eye lid, so do not think about forgoing this essential item. Many people would consider tanning lotions to be the important "must" of all their tanning products. When you go to pick out a lotion, make sure that the product was intended to be used in tanning booths. The two dollar bottles of tanning lotion that you can buy in a discount store may save your pocketbook, but may hinder getting that designer skin tone. Go with a product that you know will work. You can find tanning lotions online from a plethora of retailers that offer up to an 80% discount from what you would pay at the salon. You also need to pay attention and find a level of lotion that works best for you. Other tanning products that you may want to look into are special stickers that show your level of shade. There are also specially designed swim suits that allow you to tan, but without the need to shed all of your clothing. However, these articles of clothing are see-through, so you may not want to wear them out in public. But they do afford you a little bit of protection. One more item that you may want to consider keeping in your tanning kit are anti bacterial wipes. Use them to wipe down the booth before you begin and after you are finished.
