By: Robert Kally Moore Home | Travel-and-Leisure

Umpteenth number of factors is responsible for attracting flights to Seattle. The city also known as â€The Emerald City’ is the largest city of Pacific Northwest located between Puget Sound and Lake Washington in King County overlooking Elliot Bay. People residing here are called Seattleites. The city is has an abundance of greenery thus rich in natural vegetation. It gives spectacular views of Cascade Mountains to the east and the Olympic Mountains to the west. It is the major economic, cultural and educational centre being home to Space Needle, Boeing's aircraft assembly plants, Microsoft, Amazon.com, Nintendo of America, Starbucks, and the University of Washington, as well as a magnificent arts scene and an excellent extensive park system.

The architecture of this place has proved to be so interesting that people from all over the world are getting their tickets booked well in advance to get cheap flights to Seattle. The metropolis has a very unique and rich blend of culture and art. Among the highlights is Central Library, a building which is uniquely designed with an enormous glass-fronted atrium. Then there is the Smith Tower, an Art Deco skyscraper which has an observation deck and it is its oldest skyscraper, and the Columbia Center, the tallest building in the Pacific Northwest and even more interesting thing is that it has its own observation deck which is the tallest in the city. January is the month which is sometimes sunny and pleasant and even sometimes it is the coldest month. The summer is however very pleasant. March is windy and unpleasant and April is when spring makes itself apparent. May is almost always the best non-summer month but then June hits and the weather becomes cloudy and rainy once more, though fortunately it's a warmer rain and there is still good weather occasionally. The month of December tends to be extremely wet. Although it is true that Seattle weather is unpredictable, it can still be sunny and mild.

The place is dotted with several parks from small urban squares to large forested areas giving a lovely view to the surrounding. It also hosts some of the frolicking events like Seafair, Bite of Seattle, and Fremont Fair.
