What is Custom Graphic Design? A Custom graphic design is essentially a Web design the purpose of which is to develop design that conforms to the identity of the website and the business that it performs. The concept of graphic design is different from web programming. Here, the emphasis is more on the functional features of a web site, as well as imparting the web design as a kind of graphic design. Its utility: A graphic design firm is predominantly engaged in the field of creating and developing high-end presentations of content making full use of various tool and software of graphic design. The content developed by a graphic design company is passed over to end-user through internet or web browsers. Other wed enabled software such as micro-blogging sites, web enabled television transmissions, RSS readers etcetera also provide these contents. Its content: A custom website design is essentially a collection of electronic documents and applications available on a web server/servers and its presentation in form of content and interactive features/interfaces to the end user in form of Web pages and thus, can be customized by the user as per personal discretion. Different elements such as text, bit-mapped images (GIFs, JPEGs) and forms can be put on pages using HTML/XHTML/XML tags. If one wants to display more complex media (vector graphics, animations, videos, sounds) then it will require plug-ins such as Adobe Flash, QuickTime, Java run-time environment, etc. These plug-ins can also be embedded into web pages using HTML/XHTML tags. The new W3C standards made popular the use of XHTML/XML tags along with the CSS or Cascading Style Sheets for the purpose of positioning and manipulating objects and elements on a web page. Now latest research and development is aimed at developing browser’s ability to such capacity that it may not have to make use of plug-ins to deliver a wide variety of content and accessibility options to the user. In general, web pages are classified as 2.Static pages such as an HTML page where content and layout is not changed unless a programmer manually updates the page and makes the changes. The role of end-user is of no consequence here. 3.Dynamic pages where the end-user has the freedom to alter the contents or layout using the tools provided to him. Client-side scripting languages such as JavaScript, JScript, Actionscript, etc. are used to alter DOM elements. The custom design also meets the appearance of the site and corresponds the way in which it presents before its visitor.
