The process of looking for a good beginner’s workout routine seems like it should be easy enough but finding what works best for each of us can be a challenge. So what is the best course of action when intending to begin a weight lifting regimen? Your first course of action may be to go to your local gym. There you will find many people, all who seem to know exactly what they are doing. Then you have to see yourself reflected in a wall of mirrors that line the workout room. This all may make you feel a little intimidated and be wondering why you are there. Don’t despair; just think about the obvious gains you will be reaping. It is proven that weight training when done on a regular basis will strengthen your muscles, tendons and ligaments. When done consistently your overall fitness level will improve, your cardiovascular system will be strengthened and you will most likely lose weight. If you are more interested in strengthening and toning, you want to be doing high repetitions with lower weights. If you’re looking to build muscle mass, low repetitions with higher weights will do the best job. From here we want to determine what exercises to do and what weights to use. If you want to be sure of having a successful weight lifting experience you want to avoid two common mistakes made by beginners. The first is performing the exercises improperly and the second is using too much weight. Both of these lead to diminished results and a good possibility of injury. It is very important to use the correct amount of weight and to do the exercises properly. One very important part of your workout is to be sure that all your exercises are done with a slow controlled range of motion. This will create more muscle tension and produce more force which will lead to more activation of muscle fibers. The result is strengthening of the muscles, tendons, and ligaments and less chance of injury to these same tissues. To summarize, if you are serious about starting a good beginner’s workout routine, begin by educating yourself on the â€how to’sâ€. This will allow you to set more realistic goals and be more likely to accomplish the results you are looking for. There are many excellent programs to choose from and with a little homework you should be able to find what suits you best.
