In today’s society there is the big rave that this pill will do this for you and that pill will do another thing for you, but bottom line is that they are the big answer to your weight loss problems. But the real question that we must first look at is, are they really safe. One day a new pill comes out and it has all the answers and then a few days later it is no longer the one and something else comes out. So with all of the ranting that goes on out there, how do we really know if they work or are even safe for us? When I was younger and first learning I took a few herbal diet pills once on a whim. I ended up and didn’t eat anything for nearly two days afterwards. I also didn’t really get much sleep either. Main reason being that I felt so wired up that if I had tried to sleep would not have done any good. Anything that makes you wired like that and kills your appetite so completely just isn’t good for you. While they were ephedra free and were supposedly totally natural and safe, I don’t think I’d ever felt so polluted and ill in my life. A year later I discovered that the FDA had banned the same herbal diet pills I had taken, and I have to wonder what it was I had put in my body. What kind of long term effects would it cause that I had not even felt yet. Herbal diet pills are very popular these days as an alternative to more traditional methods of weight loss like diet and exercise. Everyone wants the simple and easy way to lose weight without all the hard work. They do not want to have to change their habits that they already have in place. So in response to all of the hype that people are writing about out there and with the thought that Herbal treatments in general are very trendy today, I have to say that I find it a little worrisome for several reasons. First of all, just about anything, could be in an herbal diet pill. â€Herbs’ have a kind of loophole in the FDA system, as they are only classified as supplements and not drugs therefore don’t have the rigorous standards for testing and safety that drugs normally get. Make no mistake about it though, herbs can be every bit as potent and harmful as drugs. The difference between medicinal herbs and drugs is really quite vague anyway, as most drugs themselves come from a kind of plant or herb. The biggest difference normally is that Herbs may be weaker than the actual drug counterpart. But this is not always the case either. Which leads to the next part of, how much should you take and it still be safe. Without proper testing it can cause extreme problems for many people. Most of the time the â€herbal’ classification doesn’t last very long; the FDA eventually calls it a drug and brings in the scientists. When this happens then herbal diet pills often either become available only by prescription or will be banned completely. Snooping around a little from site to site that sell herbal diet pills, it is clear that the makers of these things are all too familiar with the FDA. Many sites even use it to their advantage saying things to the effect of â€buy it now before the FDA bans it!’. You have to ask yourself, if the FDA is likely going to ban an herbal diet pill you’re interested in, should you be taking it at all? The main thing is, just don’t be fooled by the word â€herbal’ in an herbal diet pill. I would actually trust a regular diet pill that is FDA approved a lot more than some herbal diet pill concoction that has who knows what in it. The words herbal and natural are marketing ploys and should never be confused with the word safe unless there’s been some testing to prove it. There are truly some good Herbal diet pills that are out there but they are not designed to be used alone. You need to look at the label and know that they have been tested and certified to really know. However you cannot replace a good exercise program with a pill. You must also look at your diet and be willing to change those things that are bad for you. Although there can be some good remedies out there for you, you cannot get the results in your weight loss program from a pill alone. You will need to exercise and eat a proper nutritional diet. Be sure to look at your label first before you start taking random pills to make sure that they have been tested and certified. And most importantly never exceed the recommended dosage. Just like with a normal drug taking to much could actually harm you.
