nausea
headaches
vomiting
abdominal pain
diarrhea (both watery and crampy as well as bloody and even mucusy)
fever
inflammation of internal organs
kidney failure
muscles aches
blurry vision
speech problems
bodily weakness
death

Food poisoning can be tested by doctors in many ways. A urine test may be needed. Also, blood tests are common and may be used. Lastly, rectal exam also may be chosen by doctors. Common checks Heart beat rate and blood pressure are also checked by doctors in addition to these tests.

Inspite of its intricacies, food poisoning problem can be prevented by people in many ways. When shopping, they can avoid purchasing packages that appear open or torn, waiting until the end of their shopping trip to buy frozen or cold items and taking them home immediately, and avoiding contact between raw foods (like meat) and other foods. In addition to that, extremely important is cleanliness. After going to the bathroom, it is important to wash hands. Also, before working with uncooked foods, it is crucial to wash hands before and after handling them. At the time of actually cooking their food, people can take a number of steps also to avoid food poisoning. Using of meat thermometer can be done by them to measure the temperature of the meat when cooking meat. It should be ensured also that leftovers are consumed within four days. Spoiling of food can be avoided by not keeping it outside for more than two hours, to say the least.

Sometimes, people who get poisoned by food do not have control over whether they get poisoned or not. Specifically, if someone eats something at a restaurant and gets sick, the restaurant may be at fault. Cooking of food completely may not have happened with chefs. They or others who handle the food may not have washed their hands thoroughly after going to the bathroom or before and after handling the food. The restaurant may have spoiled ingredients. {Whatever the reason, the person who gets sick by food poisoning may have gotten sick because of others' mistakes.

It all comes down to keeping food out of the danger zone temperature range (40-140 degrees) where bacteria grow easily and quickly; keeping HOT foods HOT and COLD foods COLD; and always remembering the adage, "When in doubt, throw it out"!.
