Short form TV is a method of advertising although the actual programming may run the gamut of a short infomercial to a mini-show. Short form TV is a direct response advertisement and generally last anywhere from 30 seconds to 120 seconds in length. The one thing that ties all short form TV programming together is the existence of a phone number or website for consumers to use to contact the company.

There are many benefits of short form TV. For example, the programming is more visible because there are many insertions that are fast and short. Consumers appreciate the convenience of short form TV because it adds value to what they are watching, informs them of items that could be useful to them, and is interesting to watch.

Short form TV time slots may be purchased up to a week in advance and they are quite flexible. They allow for a direct response television campaign to be managed efficiently and effectively. Short Form TV is more beneficial than print media because the ad can run on all stations and at different time slots in order to reach the largest audience possible. Production cost for short form TV are generally more affordable than long form TV.

The point of short form TV is to generate sales or brand awareness. The reason to spend the time and money to create a short form TV campaign is because you want to make money in the future from sales of your products and the like. The great thing about short form TV is that as soon as the first ad airs sales are generated as a result of the 800 number or website provided in the spot.

In most cases, a short form TV commercial will be one of three lengths. This is typically 60 seconds, 90 seconds, or 120 seconds. Short form TV spots are designed and aired in a way to make an urgent call for response.

There are plenty of benefits to using short form TV spots and the biggest is that it brings in money immediately. This is important because when marketers are putting up money to get their product on television it is a relief to have money coming in as the first infomercial is airing. These are just a few of the basics of short form TV and why it is so popular with marketers, both big and small.
