The machines we utilize are the most modern and sophisticated for a facility of this type. Our enormous saw, which performs all precision end trimming (PET) and compound miters for the roof trusses, takes up a space of 35' long x 35' wide. The saw automatically loads raw materials, detects materials and determines appropriate cuts using its computer aided design system (CAD), and then even stacks the finished material for transport to other areas of the plant. Finally, a conveyor belt transports the end-cuts to our recycling bins, where we collect and recycle the sawdust. This dynamic and versatile machine allows us to build the complex roof designs you see on our homes at a huge cost savings. PET capabilities save on average $.30 to $.50 per stud or floor joist. Environmentally speaking, precision tools and recycling initiatives such as these drastically minimize construction and natural resource waste. Simply put, we just build more efficiently. Another unique technology we have is the computer-aided panel line. The panel line is over 100' long and 18' wide and is used for building garage components and other specialized roof structures. This gives us the flexibility to either integrate garages into the floor plan or to have them panelized. We have 275-gallon glue totes, and 50 gallon compound resin drums. Our resins are heated to 140 degrees and combined to secure drywall in a more fortified way than traditional on-site methods. We care about our environment, and therefore all materials and resins we use are low VOC (volatile organic compounds) to meet a Green building standard.
