What To Do After A Failed Pmp Exam

By: John Reiling Home | Self-Improvement

You already have prepared everything for the PMP exam. You have taken the PMP training and read and memorized the PMBOK and other PMP materials for the formulas and acronyms. You followed all the tips taught by PMP experts. And you rested early and eat nutritious food just before the exam. Now that you have taken the exam, you felt nervous yet felt confident that you'll pass the test. But, it turns out that you failed the exam, what will you do?

It is normally anticipated that there will be applicants who will fail. If it is not impossible to pass, it is not also impossible to fail. The Project Management Certification Exam is a difficult exam. And they only give you 4 hours to answer all 200 questions. If you aren't able to pass at least 106 correct answers, there is still hope for you.

You need to start from the top. After taking the exam, you will receive a report about how you have gone through the exam. Look at those points where you are weak. Then, start on studying. Improve and polish those weaknesses and make it something useful. Make brand new ways on how to study and memorize the lessons to have greater chances in passing the exam the next time you take it.

If by any chance you found out that they wronged some of your answers by mistake, you could go to the PMP credential program which is administrated by the manager of the Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification Program. You concerns will be dealt with by the PMI Certification Governance Council's (CGC) Certification Appeal Procedures. This approach is the only one who will decide about your complaints, all related about the results of the exam. All you need to do is to download their appeals from the PMI website and then submit yours.

But, to get rid all of the hassles, you could choose to retake the exam. Within a year after you got the Authorization to Test, you could take the examination at least three times, that includes you first take of the exam. You will just need to submit a re-examination form and fee. In thinking about retaking, it would be better if you register as soon as possible after you knew you didn't pass the test. Because if not, there will be a tendency that you forget what you just recently studied and you'll be forced to study again starting from the very beginning. It will also be a waste of time and money. Just give yourself a month time to study.

During this period, you need to focus on the areas found on your report where you got a problem with. You should be working hard with it; and take a pmp exam sample questions. It will surely cost you but you should not mind about those things this time around. Don't divert your attention to anything except on studying to be able to pass the exam this time.

However, if still did not able to pass this second time, and even the third try, you need to patiently wait for another year to re-apply again. While waiting, study more and polish your minds until you familiarize and memorize the important key points of project management. With all your hard work, I'm sure you'll pass the exam the next time you take it. Good luck!
