What To Look For In A Wine Bottle Refrigerator

By: Genesis Davis Home | Food-and-Drink | Wine

Are you an aspiring wine collector? Then you better get yourself a wine bottle refrigerator before you purchase all the wine that you would like to collect. If you love wine enough to really start hunting down the best bottles and you would like to collect various types of this beverage, then you need to prepare a place where you can store them conveniently and properly to conserve the quality.

As a wine aficionado, you have to know what needs to be considered when it comes to making this a successful hobby. You should from your research that wine is at its best when served chilled. But don't just chill your wine in an ordinary refrigerator which can cause long term storage issues. If you will be storing the wine for a longer period of time, you need to have a designated wine bottle refrigerator to help you regulate the temperature as well as the humidity needed to preserve your wine in a proper manner.

The first concern that you would have to consider when keeping wine is the appropriate temperature required for proper maturation of the wine’s body. Usually red wines are stored at a temperature which ranges from 56-58 Fand white wines at 49-56F as this type requires a lower temperature. However, this is not the only thing to look for. Most wine bottle refrigerators also have a vibration dampening system to prevent any vibrations from stirring up the wine, which is what happens in a regular refrigerator in your kitchen.

Every wine bottle refrigerator has its own features and you have to be specific with what you need. There are built-in wine refrigerators which are more compact, stylish, and are products of a cutting-edge technology that are more focused on the needs of keeping your wine at its right temperature to preserve its pleasing taste while still fitting into the home. Some of these stylish coolers offer dual temperature zones so you can store your wines at one temperature for reds and another for whites.

It is worth splurging on this all important piece of equipment. If you are going to invest in high quality wine, doesn’t it deserve to be treated right? We may not have wine cellars available to us, but a wine bottle refrigerator is the next best thing to it and will protect your wine from light, vibrations and humidity.
