By: John H Goddard Home | Finance

The number one thing that you should look for when you are trying to find a great debt consolidation deal is a good interest rate. This is the number one factor that should be on your mind. Unless you are willing to spend more than you should have on this step of your financial life.

When you are trying to find a debt consolidation company that is going to make your life better, there are a couple of characteristics that you should look for. In this article we've made a list with the most important things that a debt consolidation should have to be the best for you:

1. A debt consolidation company should have a professional looking website. Right now there are many debt consolidation companies that have websites that look like they were made in 1995, and never updated. The quality of the web design that they are using to promote their services is somehow similar with the quality of their services, if the don't have the time/money to redesign their website, this might mean that they are not able to do the same thing with the services that they are offering.

2. If a company is not going to give you a call sooner than 24 business hours, it means that they are not motivated to have you as client, if you are going to receive calls 5 days after you've completed the online form, you should look for another debt consolidation company.

3. A good debt consolidation company is going to give you a quote, and forward you the contract the moment they have all the information they need from your side, this is why if a company will delay this, it's the same situation as in number 2: they are not looking interested in your business.

4. You should always try more than one debt consolidation companies, this way you will be able to compare, and to select the right one for your own case. So if you are in search for the perfect debt company you will have to spend more time, and in the end you will see that the time spent will return you many possible savings in the future.
