The iPhone OS is derived from the Mac OS X where it shares the foundation of Darwin thus making it resembles the UNIX operating system. It has four layers of abstraction: the core services layer, cocoa touch later, core OS layer and the media layer. Although this system is also being used in the Apple iPad, the company did reveal few distinct differences between the two Apple devices. There will be new software for iPad operating system download but for the iPad users, they will need to wait for some time hence currently, they should not be overly excited about the ability to multitask the iPad features and applications. The Apple Company also did propose few items regarding the iPad device. They claimed that in fact there have been numerous features in the iPhone OS that can be used in the iPad. As the iPad runs on the 3.2 version, iPad users are said to be off on the advance side compared to the iPhone users. But iPhone users can enjoy further advancement when their new 4.0 version is unveiled. Among the features that are already available for iPad operating system download are the iBook applications along with the support for Apple iBook store, the support for Bluetooth keyboards, spell check, home screen wallpaper and also the ability to create playlists in iTunes. According to the Apple’s proposal, iPad users’ waiting for the remaining upgrading features will be worthy as they claimed that they will have a slightly more advanced version of the operating system compared to that of the iPhone and iPod Touch. During the question and answer session, the Apple was thrown with a great question in relation to why Apple had not come up with more simple and viewable information such as the forecast, considering that such software can be included into the iPhone OS on a lock or home screen without much difficulty.
